Veteran actor Vinod Mehra’s son Rohan is making his B-town debut with Saif Ali Khan starrer Baazaar. It’s been a while since we have seen Saif Ali Khan on the silver screen. Though the actor impressed us as Sartaj in Netflix India’s original series Sacred Games. And his brilliant part in the same has us excited to watch the Kaalakaandi actor’s upcoming films which include Hunter and Nikkhil Advani’s Baazaar. The film which has been in the making since a long time has finally got its release date and we are glad.
Producer Nikkhil Advani of Emmay Entertainment, announced October 26 as the film’s release date on his Twitter handle. He wrote, “Baazaar chalu che!!! Excited to announce our next in born, in bred and in house chokras step into the world. @gauravvkchawla you re up!!! @EmmayEntertain @monishaadvani @madhubhojwani @KytaProductions @Viacom18Movies @BaazaarFilm #Oct26.”
Based in the tireless financial capital of the country, Baazaar is set against backdrop of dreams, money, power and business. The film directed by Gaurav Chawla, also stars debutante Rohan Mehra (who is the son of veteran actor Vinod Mehra), Chitrangda Singh and Radhika Apte. Talking about his film, Saif had told PTI, “The intention of Baazaar was to create a human drama against the backdrop of the stock market. My character is like a nasty antagonist. Rohan Mehra (his debut film) is the hero. It is exciting to play strong and powerful roles. I don’t distinguish between roles, it is funny. The idea is even if you play bad, if it is well-written, people don’t think actors are being evil or nasty.”
